From Everyday Coffee to Deeper Discovery, One Room at a Time

Most trade show stands want five seconds of your attention — a logo, a sample cup, a QR code, and then… gone. Roemah Koffie’s, running 14–18 October at ICE BSD for Trade Expo Indonesia 2026, asks for closer to twenty minutes, and it earns every one of them.

The brand’s own line is “From Bean to Heart,” and Haluu has taken that literally: not a slogan printed on a wall, but a route you actually walk. You enter through what looks, at first, like a minimart — bright, a little playful, shelves of ready-to-drink coffee lined up like a convenience-store fridge. There’s a quiz on an iPad, something to do with your “coffee character,” and a photo booth for the inevitable selfie. It feels low-stakes, almost throwaway. Then you notice the fridge door isn’t quite a fridge door. It opens, and the minimart is behind you.

What’s on the other side is quieter. A museum, of sorts, though nothing about it feels roped-off or formal. There’s a vintage grinder you’re meant to touch, not just look at, and somewhere in the room is the story of “Cing Cangkeling” — an old Sundanese folk tune, the kind of reference that rewards the visitor who leans in rather than walks past. This is where the heritage lives: not as a timeline on a wall, but as something closer to a family’s kitchen, excavated and laid out for strangers.

The last room lets its guard down entirely. A bar, beans laid out by roast level so you can smell your way from green to dark, a short cupping session if you want one, and a barista or two working the counter like it’s a Sunday morning, not a trade show. The music changes with whatever’s being poured, which is a small detail, but the kind that tells you someone was paying attention. Off to one side, a lounge for buyers to sit and actually talk — business, here, doesn’t feel bolted onto the experience so much as folded into it.

By the time you leave, “bean to heart” isn’t a line on a wall anymore — it’s just where you’ve been. This is, in the end, less a trade show stand than a small sanctuary for Indonesia’s coffee story — the old tales, the history, sitting easily next to wherever the industry’s headed next. Past, present, and whatever’s coming, all poured into the same cup.
